The New England Bruins won the Great Salt Cup Sled Hockey Tournament in Park City, Utah over the weekend of April 1st by beating the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 in a closely contested final. The two teams had played to a 4-4 tie in the tournament preliminary round. The National Ability Center hosted the tournament and did a wonderful job providing an accessible rink and accommodations at the National Ability Center Bunk House. The New England Bruins would like to thank the National Ability Center and in particular Lauren Artesani, Brooke Hafets, and Larry Finan for their exceptional hospitality. The Bruins would also like to thank the NAC Golden Eagles, the Sacramento Lightning, and the Colorado Avalanche for the great games. The Bruins would also like to recognize the contributions of Kristen Johnson and Deb Park for their photography work, Chris O'Leary for his help with bench management and willingness to lend a hand to anything that needed to be done, and Tim Byas for his general good cheer. Welcome to the family. And last but not least, the team would like to publicly thank one of their own, Doug Park, for his superior job managing line changes and fixing everyone's broken equipment. This was as integral to the Bruins winning the tournament as anything that occurred on the ice. Click here for tournament photos by Kristen Johnson and Deb Park.
