New Englan Bruins Sled Hockey

Happy hammering in the cornerMarch 31, 2006 - Park City, Utah - The New England Bruins faced off in their second game of the day against a new team from Sacramento, California and handled the Lightning without too much difficulty with the benefit of more experienced players and a deeper bench.

In addition to Dan Sousa scoring three unassisted goals to record a hat-trick for New England, the Bruins also got a goal from Kevin "One Time Hosier" off an assist from Bruins rookie Garrett "G-String" Stephens. One-Time repaid the favor by combining with Taylor "TC" Chace to set Stringer up for a goal of his own.  TC scored himself with assists from Sousa and Bruins defenseman Craig Gray, but the highlight of the game for the Bruins came at 2:13 into the second period when Bruins veteran George "Happy" Treantafel drove home a pass from Pete Grosso. A long time emotional team leader for the Bruins, Happy is known more for toughness in the corners and exceptional team attitude than his offensive scoring prowess. The 69 year old Treantafel beamed as he made his way back into the player bench to receive the heartfelt congratulations from his teammates.

Sacramento player/coach and long time Team USA sled hockey veteran Dave Conklin scored the Lighting's single goal on an assist from Bill Susman.
