Travel Team selected for USA Disabled Hockey Festival
January 13, 2005 – Needham, MA: New England Bruins Team Leader, Dale Wise
today announced the team that will be traveling to Fraser, Michigan to
participate in the
Inaugural USA Disabled National Hockey Festival. Dan Sousa, Brett
Goodnow, Taylor Chace, Kip St. Germaine, Joe Howard, Bob Stanford, Pete
Grosso, Craig Gray, Crystal Chalich, Mike Geary, Aguinaldo Luis, and Kevin
Hosier, along with Coaches Rick Middleton and Tom Moulton will represent New
England in the event which is scheduled for February 18, 19, and 20. "This
is probably the strongest and deepest team we've been able to assemble since
we formed the New England Bruins," said Wise. "We'll certainly be facing
some very tough competition, but we are all hoping for a very good showing
by our team."
Wise continued, “This is a very important tournament that will attract
national attention. All four "disability-related" hockey disciplines will be
playing at the tournament including Amputee Hockey, Hearing Impaired Hockey,
Special Hockey, and both Jr. and Sr. Sled Hockey. Great Lakes Sport City in
Fraser, Michigan will serve as the host site for the Festival. All games and
events will be in this one venue.
The Festival will begin with a session of daytime games on Friday, an
Opening Ceremony later that evening featuring the USA Amputee Team in
competition against the Detroit Red Wings Alumni. Games will continue on
Saturday and conclude Sunday in the early evening hours. A Skills
Competition is also being considered as part of the weekend activities.
Travel arrangements for the New England Bruins Team will be posted in the
