Bruins will play Pennsylvania in pre-New England Invitational event

March 1, 2005 - A set of games that had originally been scheduled as a rematch between the Maine Black Bears and Pennsylvania CenterPedes has been expanded to incorporate a pre-event for sponsors of the New England Invitational Sled Hockey Tournament. As a result, both the Black Bears and CenterPedes will expand their rosters. The Maine Team will wear the Bruins Black jerseys and will expand their roster with several Bruins players. The CenterPedes will bring additional players from the United Spinal Rangers.

"When I called Mike Burns about scheduling a game with the CenterPedes in Westfield, he jumped on the idea and suggested we incorporate a pre-event for sponsors of the New England Invitational Sled Hockey Tournament," said Bruins Marketing Director, Craig Gray. There will two games on Saturday, April 9th starting at 11:00 a.m. with an on-ice opportunity for sponsors and media members between the games. "It's a great idea." Gray continued, "This pre-event will help generate more publicity for the New England Invitational and will give us another chance to thank our sponsors. The other bonus is that the Bruins will now have another two games scheduled two weeks prior to the tournament. This will definitely help us stay sharp."
